A soft breeze gently caressed Tuesday's hair, easily causing the brown haired boy to immediately brush his hair from his eyes. The distant sound of bird calls echoed across the Backwall, though no bird was in sight. Tuesday sighed and clutched a worn and slightly torn stuffed tiger in his hands harder. Keegan. His best, best friend besides his older brother Christofer. Tuesday looked about the Backwall, double checking (and triple checking) for anyone around the area.
Not a soul was near. A small smile split the boy's lips as he trotted quickly to make himself comfortable. Sliding against the rough brick wall, Tuesday perched himself down on the ground, placing the stuffed tiger he held in front of him. A satsified sound escaped his lips briefly, brown eyes bright with glee. Finally, somewhere alone to rest and relax. Moreover, he could easily talk with Keegan and avoid the awkward questions he gathered.
"So. We're finally all alone Keegan. What do you think we should do today? We've been good enough, right?" Tilting his head to the side, Tuesday lifted up his hand and drug the stuffed tiger closer. Of course the thing wouldn't answer, but hey. It was comforting to talk with. Shooting the tiger a raised eyebrow, Tuesday shook his head. Maybe the tiger didn't talk out loud per say, just. . . when Tuesday felt particularally chatty. Or as chatty as he could get. (Which frankly, wasn't much.)
The cold concrete he sat upon was numbing his butt slightly, but all he did was shift slightly. Resting his head against the brick wall, Tuesday groped for the stuffed tiger he called Keegan. Brushing his fingertips against the animal, he smiled. He adored that tiger to death. He could vaguely remember when he got his best friend Keegan. It was from a Christmas time when he was only three or four. A simple stuffed tiger wrapped up with a bow from his older brother. He was estatic he got such a gift from his brother; mommy and daddy dearest didn't get him much. A couple of racing cars. Humph.
Giving Keegan another small smile, Tuesday squeezed the animal tightly against his chest. He hadn't let the tiger become too far away from his grasp. Tuesday almost always brought the thing to any place he went. It would've been blasphemus if he didn't have Keegan with him. Tuesday probably would've panicked and tried to tear apart Michigan State to find the poor tiger. Chuckling and peering down at the fading stripes of his stuffed tiger, Tuesday rolled his brown eyes. "If you ever got lost Keegan, I wouldn't have a clue what I'd do. Speaking quietly, Tuesday pulled his legs up close and perched the tiger on his knees.
Sniffling slightly, Tuesday stared at the tiger intently. He sort of wished it could talk. Maybe he'd be able to socialize more if he had Keegan shouting in his ear to suck it up and speak with someone. Petting the tiger gently, Tuesday was silent for a few minutes. "You're my best, best, best friend Keegan. I love you." He cooed, his lips quirking upwards into a wide smile. Fiddling with the hem of his shirt, Tuesday lapsed into a comfortable silence. With the occasional bird call here and there from the invisible birds that seemed to be in abundance in Michigan State. All Kara wanted to do was take some pieces of paper and some coloured pencils into her dorm room, she felt safe in her dorm room and she didn't particularly like to sit in the Art room, it was a large room and she felt a little agrophobic at times. Kara prefers to be in a small space than an open space. Wide open spaces make her feel vulnerable. The nurses refused her the paper and pencils, afraid that she might do something stupid if she was unsupervised - especially with the pencils. Acting like a child as usual Kara sat in a huff in the doorway of the Art room, blocking entry and exit to anybody else, by trying to prove her point and to signal that she wouldn't go anywhere without some paper and pens back to her dorm, there was no way she was going to sit in the Art room, she didn't feel like it today.
The nurses did whatever what they did with any teenager in a huff, they ignored her and Kara doesn't like to be ignored when she wants attention, it makes her more stroppy. It's the only time anybody will ever really see Kara in a bad mood but she never stays in a mood for long as she often gets distracted by other things or she might find people to talk to. After ten minutes of sitting in the doorway with her arms and legs folded like a toddler she stood up and walked away, she knew she wasn't going to get anywhere with this act, all she wanted to do was colour-in in her dorm, was it so much to ask? obviously. She knew she wasn't trusted but none of the staff trusted them, just because they were teenagers with problems. Kara hated it.
She didn't know what to do with herself now, all she did was draw and colour in or something in that area and is often found with pen marks on her clothes or her hands at least or if she accidently chewed on a pen and it burst and it on her face, that only happened once and she found it quite funny. Walking down the white overly clean corridor with her hands held behind her back in an innocent fashion she skipped outside, pushing the solid door open. At least you didn't need permission to go outside. The sunshine hitting her she smiled but it was quite chilly as the breeze blew passed and she only had a thin t-shirt on. She didn't bother much though, she doesn't mind the cold, as long as it isn't freezing.
Now that she was outside she didn't know where to go or what to do, she was always finding it hard to make decisions. Maybe she could go sit by the backwall, if nobody else was there, and she could mull over her thoughts but she knew her thought were likely to turn to her memory of the fire that killed her mum and older sister, it was all she thought about when she didn't have a distraction and she didn't like it. Skipping in her child like fashion over to the backwall she was going to turn back when she say somebody else there but she felt curious when she saw him with a teddy bear.... and talking to it. She thought that was quite strange but cute at the same time. Walking slowly over to him, her hands held behind her back, she smiled. "Hiya" she grinned "Cute teddy bear" Kara always loved teddy bears, she knew she had more than a sixteen year old should back at home, she was only allowed to bring a few to Michigan with her. Another light breeze gently tickled at Tuesday's hair. He shook his head, giving his stuffed tiger a smile. It was nice just sitting here. It was quiet and Keegan was here. Fingers tugging gently on Keegan's tail, Tuesday sat in a comfortable bubble of silence. It gave him time to just think and relax.
Tensing at the sound of footfalls, Tuesday perked his head up from his nest in his knees. In the distance a girl seemed to be. . . skipping? toward him. He could feel his heart beat a bit faster at the thought of someone coming near. They'd end up asking those nosy questions or something. Or even try and take Keegan. Just
[/b] to spite Tuesday. Burrying his head into his knees as he took a deep calming breath, Tuesday looked up at the now closer girl in front of him. Her eyes were a dark chocolate brown color, sort of like his, only darker. Her hair was a fiery red color, something Tuesday only saw in movies or cartoons. Pulling Keegan closer and in front of his eyes, he watched the girl smile at him. This was uncomfortable. Just a teensy, tiny bit. She spoke cheerily, which made Tuesday flinch visibly. He hoped she wasn't the ones that liked to talk and talk and talk. They gave him a headache and he couldn't think. Or even complain to Keegan about it. Twitching his eye slightly, Tuesday peered up from behind Keegan, a small frown on his face. She called Keegan a teddy bear? That wasn't what he was. Scooting his knees closer to his body, Tuesday shook his head. "H-H-He's a tiger." he stuttered out childishly, lower lip jutting out like one. He hated it when people mistook Keegan for a teddy bear. If Keegan was a teddy bear, then he would be brown, not the fiery orange and black markings a tiger would have. He sniffed petuliantly before awkwardly fiddling with his shirt's hem. He hated this. He'd much rather be alone and talking with Keegan. Speaking of Keegan. . . "You're not a teddy bear." Gripping the tiger close to his chest, Tuesday shot the girl a small pout. "So not a teddy bear..." he mumbled, trying his hardest not to fidget or even walk away from this girl. She seemed nice enough, but. . . she called Keegan a bear. He knew his childish antics probably were silly, but Keegan was way more important to him than someone's opinion of him. Tuesday sat quietly, occasionally giving the girl a small look that could've been a 'I'm kind of a social reject, mind helping me out?' or even just a way look in general. The wind started up again, a stronger breeze stirring Tuesday's hair up into his eyes. Blinking back the slight sting of the dirt the wind brought, he rubbed his eyes. He looked up at the girl, then back down at Keegan. Tuesday wished that Keegan would hurry up and become real. He sure could use a pep talk right about now. Kara thought it was cute that he had a teddy bear with him, she never really saw boys with teddies before and she thought it was adorable and she gave him kudos for having the guts to walk about with it, she wondered if he got picked on for carrying a teddy bear around but then again my nobody noticed him much and with so many kids around the place she never really saw him before either, he must be the quiet type because she thought she knew most people at Michigan but him being new to her only means she can make a new friend. Kara likes new friends but sometimes she can come cross a bit too forward, she's just enthusiastic and always wants to get to know you better.
Watching him cautiously as he held his teddy to him, she wondered if it was something like a comfort blanket, she did find it a bit odd but strangely cute at the same time but Kara claims everything is cute or adorable in some way, she can always see the good in things and people, she hates negativity as her mum had always taught her to be positive and now that she lost her mum she is more determined to keep positive and keep her mum's spirit alive. "A tiger? yeahhh, I see that. It's cute" she smiled gently, he looked a bit weary or scared or something, she couldn't tell, was she that scary? she didn't think so. "But it's like a teddy bear tiger, I like tigers, they're all cute and cuddly..... that is until they eat you" she finished the end of her sentence with a slightly horrified look to her face, she never thought about them wanting to eat you before, she just focused on the cute part. Are you okay?" she asked happily but concerned, he was acting a bit weird and all, was it her? didn't he like her? everybody likes Kara; she's cute, short, happy and huggable, what's not to love?
She didn't really understand why he was talking to the teddy, it wasn't exactly going to answer back. Kara loves teddy bears to cuddle when you're feeling low and to make you feel comfortable when you cuddle them when you're trying to sleep but talking to it? maybe that's why he was at Michigan, because he thought the teddy was real.... it confused her, she didn't know what to make of it. "yeahh, it is" she giggled slightly "If it's not a teddy bear then what is it? but why'd you talk to it? it might go rawr" she smiled, she was amusing herself with her own thoughts, she liked that. Tuesday hugged Keegan closer and looked up at the girl. She seemed nice enough; chatty a bit, but nice enough. She hadn't imediately taken Keegan and tossed him in a tree or something, so that was. . . good? at least. Nodding, Tuesday agreed with her. Keegan was just the bee's knees. Cute and cuddly.
Blinking his wide brown eyes quickly, Tuesday also adverted them. He hadn't thought of it like that way. Hum, teddy bear tiger. It sounded cute. Looking up at the slighly horrified face, Tuesday widened his eyes even further. He knew tigers were dangerous, he had researched all there was about them when he was able and came up with some pretty terrifying results.
Tensing suddenly as the girl spoke up, Tuesday smiled weakly, but politely. "N-N-Nothing. I'm f-fine." he responded, his voice quiet. Just because he had a voice didn't mean he chatted with everyone that came his way. Keegan and Christofer were the only exceptions. He could easily talk all day with them, considering the fact he's lived with them almost all his life. That would make the most sense.
Listening quietly, like he always would, Tuesday smiled slightly. At least she got it that Keegan wasn't a teddy bear. Keegan was his best, best friend; the tiger. Biting his lip as she giggled, Tuesday wondered if he should sit there or get up and bolt. Oh dear, he hated decisions like this. It usually ended up with him making the other person upset and it made him feel absolutely terrible.
Glancing down at Keegan's beady button eyes, Tuesday could probably imagine hearing the tiger shout at him for being so silly. Being afraid of the smaller girl in front of him. Frowning and biting his lip harder with his teeth, Tuesday finally made up his mind. He'd try, try being the operative word, to stay and talk with the girl some more.
"He's. . .he's my best friend." Murmuring, Tuesday lifted his fingers up to smooth down the fabric of the stuffed tiger's tail. It was true, he had a best friend; Keegan. And Christofer was Christofer: his big brother. Tuesday shrugged at the girl, his brown eyes meeting hers for a few seconds.
Returning his gaze back at Keegan, Tuesday mumbled another reply. "Keegan. . .doesn't care I'm odd. The others. . .don't seem to like me 'cause I carry him around." inhaling slowly and exhaling, Tuesday tried not to get up and run right there. "And. . .Keegan's something special I got from my brother." Smiling weakly up at the girl's small joke, Tuesday fiddled with Keegan's tail quietly.
This was. . .getting somewhat easier. Maybe he could try to do this more often! Gulping and looking up at the red haired girl, then at Keegan, Tuesday changed his mind. He didn't want to be near others, except Christofer and Keegan. They were comfortable to be around. Not like anyone in here. The consellors, nurses, guards, other teens all were scary and they unnerved him greatly.
He'd much rather be safe and sound with Christofer. Curled up in his own bed with Keegan next to him. That sounded like a piece of heaven Tuesday liked. Fidgeting once more, Tuesday lasped back into his usual silence. He'd talked enough for at least another four days. It didn't count that the beginning part of his talking started with Keegan. Keegan could watch him talk; not anyone else could though. It was too uncomfortable. Kara grew more curious about the boy sitting on the ground in front of her, she wanted to get to know him more or as much as he would let her. She noticed that he seemed a bit reluctant to talk to her but maybe that was just him, maybe he was the quiet little soul that he looked to be, as he talked to his teddy bear and all, she wondered where he got the tiger too. She liked his teddy bear, she wanted one too. She never had any tiger like teddy bears and she wanted one now, they were too cute not to want one but she would want a big big one, a life-sized one, and that was just impossible but Kara always thinks about impossibilities because they're fun to daydream about and take you to places in your mind where you didn't expect to go, she could sit for hours in her own little world, in her own thoughts.
Feeling like she was a giant because she was standing next to him, she felt like she was standing over him and she knows how it feels to have people tower over you, you feel inferior and vulnerable, so she smiled happily as she sat down next to him, crossing her legs like a small child would but she often looked like a little girl because of the way she expressed herself, because she was shorter than other girls her age and because of her childish way of dressing, usually adorned in bright coloured jeans and skinny t-shirts with lots of colourful jewellery. "You sure you're alight? you're awfully quiet" she smiled as she playfully poked him in the arm. Listening to him intently as he told her that his tiger was his best friend, she thought this was strange too but cute at the same time, she liked to call some of her teddy bears her best friend but that's only when she wants hugs and cuddles and nobody would give her them, she would go to her teddies. "Your best friend? that's so cute !" she thought it was so adorable she almost squealed happily about it but thought it wasn't the safest idea, she knew she would scare him away or something so she kept quiet.
Listening to him again, she was curious as to what he would say. She was surprised at what he said. "How can people not like you cause of your tiger? that's just weird, like weird weird. That's like not fair" she muttered looking to him with a slightly sad expression, she would hate for people to avoid her because of something so silly. "But you got him from your brother, that's so sweet. is he here too or he back at home?" she asked, curiously. Kara was always too nosey for her own good, she just liked to know things but then she usually forgot them once she became distracted with something else. Shifting a bit to rid himself of that numb feeling in his bottom, Tuesday looked up at the girl as she suddenly plopped down next to him. Oookay, that was a bit unnerving once again. Clutching Keegan's tail tightly, Tuesday watched as she made herself comfortable. She seemed like a good person really. Just. . . a bit on the loud side. Tuesday darted his brown eyes back onto Keegan's face; the fabric worn and ripping slightly near the ear.
He'd have to beg someone to fix Keegan. He couldn't stand seeing the poor tiger get all battered and such. Tuesday pouted slightly at the thought of one of the nurses or counsellors refusing him. He'd end up pouting and probably go on a strike until he got Keegan patched up. Moving Keegan a bit to the left side of his knees, Tuesday could easily look over at the red haired girl without getting an eyeful of Keegan's beady eyes.
Hearing the girl ask the same question about his well-being, Tuesday flinched visibly at the playful poke to his arm. That was unexpected. Gripping Keegan's tail tighter with his hand that alreaedy gripped it, Tuesday smiled thinly at the girl. "Y-Yeah. I'm sure. . ." Responding quietly, Tuesday's eyes roamed about the area near the backwall. Cold concrete stretched out quite a ways and the building's worn brick exterior seemed. . . home-y for some reason. Though it was far from it.
Listening like he always seemed to do, Tuesday's eyes widened in surprise. She thought it was. . . cute? Most of the time, when people saw Tuesday with Keegan they sneered and teased him. He never liked it when that happened and it usually ended up with him bolting for his dorm and hiding underneath his blankets. Keegan would be with him and Tuesday would start to speak quickly about the incident. It always happened. Even before Michigan State.
He didn't like playing with anyone when younger and he could remember seeing pouting faces of girls and boys wanting to play 'tag' or Red Rover with him. His refusals got more and more frequent, so the other kids just left him alone. He'd come home after school and lock himself in his room, talking with Keegan like he was a real person. He'd heard it was 'cute' from his brother, Christofer, but that was a given. He was his older brother, they had an excuse to say embarrassing things like that.
Moving his wide eyes back down at Keegan, Tuesday listened quietly as the girl began to mutter something. It wasn't fair. It really wasn't. Tuesday didn't mean to be so. . . quiet and reclusive, it just was more comfortable. Tuesday shrugged at that. He didn't know and he practically got used to listening people berate him for being a 'girl' and a 'wimp.' It brushed off him like water and oil. Though sometimes it stung, he had Keegan to complain to. It was comforting.
Tilting his head at the girl, Tuesday smiled. Christofer would probably like her. She seemed nice enough and he made a mental note to write him an extremely long letter about his day. "He's. . . back home." he replied quietly, eyes downcast and slightly forlorn. He didn't like being so far away from his brother. At least he wasn't living with his parents any longer. Tuesday would've been furious and upset if Christofer had to live with those traitors.
Christofer was his only option if he was able to leave and go back home. He'd hate it with his parents. They'd probably end up treating him like a porcelain doll and keep him locked up. Which. . . didn't sound too bad, but living underneath the same roof as those traitors didn't sound too inviting. Tuesday glanced back over at the girl, his lips quirked in a small smile. She seemed a bit nosy, but she probably had a good reason to or something. He didn't mind. Tuesday was actually kind of enjoying sitting here and talking with the red haired girl. Kara had forgotten about the incident in the Art room, she had forgotten that she was in a drawing mood. She was more interested in talking to the boy who's name she had yet to learn. She didn't like that he spoke so little when sometimes she would never stop talking, if she wanted to. Maybe she could bring him out of his shell, she was good at doing that to people. She would make sure she made friends with him before she left because she was friends with most people at Michigan, everybody loves little Kara. She was curious to get to know him more, what he liked and whatt he didn't and other things but she really just wanted a hug from his tiger teddy as she eyed it curiously, it looked really old but she didn't care, sentimental vaule.
She didn't know what to make of him when he flinched because of her playfulness, was she too rough? did she hurt him or something? "I didn't hurt you, did I?" she asked, a little worried. Kara's the last person in the world to hurt something or somebody. "You're weirding me out a little, you're fine fine? yeah? she asked, cautiously. She thought he might bite her head off bow or something because she kept asking him, she was just concerned.... with him sitting up at the backwall by himself and all. "What's your name anyway?" she smiled, "I haven't seen you around before, maybe... i don't know" she trailed off shaking her head. "im Kara and you can't forget it, nuh uh" she joked playfully as she poked her tongue out at him in her childlike fashion.
"but your brother back at home must suck, but i know how ya feel. my brother and sister are back at home too...." she trailed off again. Thinking and talking about siblings was always hard on her since she had lost her older sister and best friend in the world in the fire. Sure, she had another older sister and a younger brother but she wasn't as close to them as Ashley. Smiling at him and trying to forget what she had said a moment ago. "You look like you need a hug" she smiled, biting her tongue in a girly fashion. Kara was always cuddling people and wanting cuddles and hugs, she was just a free spirited kind of girl. Slowly, Tuesday was getting used to this girl's random outbursts of talking. If it got to be too much, he'd just. . .politely tell her to be quiet. Maybe she would calm down a little more. Being so close was also uncomfortable, if not downright terrifying. He hadn't let anyone except Keegan and Christofer this close. Most of the others kept their distance or they simply ignored his prescene when he was around. He liked that arrangement. If Tuesday didn't talk, or be in the way-- the others would leave him alone also.
This girl though, was the first ever one to just come up and talk to him. Which awed and made Tuesday fidget a bit. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the girl eyeing Keegan. Raising his eyebrow curiously at her, he looked down at Keegan on his knees. She seemed like she wanted to do something to him. Tuesday just didn't know what. He hoped he wouldn't end up being the joke of someone's sick mind. It would be his luck if this girl was paid off to do something and distract Tuesday so she could take Keegan and run. Instinctively raising his hands and clutching Keegan closer, Tuesday bit his lip.
Blinking and shaking his head, Tuesday wondered if this really was a distraction. "N-N-No! Not at. . .all." he soothed, shaking his head once more to prove a point. She didn't mean any harm with the gentle poke to his arm, it had just surprised him. Mmm okay, it downright startled him lots, but he didn't want her to leave so soon. "I'm. . . just not used. ." Gulping down a mouthful of air, Tuesday smiled weakly at the girl. ". . used to interacting with people I guess? I don't. . .like socializing m-much." Gripping Keegan tighter, Tuesday waited quietly as the girl spoke up again.
"My name's. . . Tuesday. 'n that's Keegan." Pulling Keegan in front of his face, Tuesday peaked out from behind it, a shy smile on his face. She smiled at him as she spoke and Tuesday smiled back; face still partly hidden by Keegan. Kara. That sounded like a pretty name. He giggled quietly, as he pulled Keegan back to his chest. Nodding his head slowly at her words, Tuesday felt his heart tighten up at the thought of Christofer allll the way in South Carolina. Tuesday sniffled slightly and held onto Keegan tighter.
He looked up at the sound of Kara's voice, eyes wide and unblinking. A. . . hug? She seemed like she needed it more, not him. Thrusting Keegan toward her, careful as not to hit her in the face or something equally socially retarded, Tuesday smiled faintly. "Y-You look like. . .you need it more." Tilting his head like a curious puppy, Tuesday jiggled Keegan in Kara's face once more. It was only polite he let her hug him, hugs made everything better. Even if it was a stuffed animal you were hugging.

Kara thought this was fun, getting to know somebody new. There was always so many kids around here that she never managed to get herself around all of them, she always wanted as many friends as she could but she always figired that you lose some, you win some. You love her or you hate her, simple as that and she didn't necessarily get along with everybody. She knew that Tuesday couldn't be this quiet and shy though, maybe because he didn't know her that he was shy, she couldn't really figure it out, she bet he could be a riot when he spoke up. Maybe she could drag him out to one of the secret parties some of the inmates held, then she could get him to open up or something, she would figure that one out later too. Right now she was just interested in talking to Tuesday, she thought he was adorable in a 'want to hug him' way.
She was glad that she didn't hurt him though, she wanted to make a new friend... not going around hurting him so she was glad he was alright, she can tend to be a little rough sometimes and overly playful and can hurt people without realising. "Good, good" she smiled, happy that he told her that she didn't hurt him. "You look like i'd break you if I hurt you" she laughed slightly, trying not to scare him but she knew she was probably scaring him, even if a little. Kara can say and do a lot of things and not think about the consequences, she tends to go more with her heart than her head. Listening to him intently she placed her hands under her butt to keep them warm, she was getting a little cold as the wind picked up. "What'd ya mean....don't socialise much?" she asked, calmly but slightly surprised. "You're talking to me, kinda. that's socialising" she chimed and smiling in recognition as he told her his name and his tiger's. "Pretty names" she smiled, she'd never heard those kind of names before, they were unique and she liked them. "I need a hug more?" she asked in a playful surprised way. "I look all sad?" she asked, pouting her lip comically. She was trying to get him to laugh or something, she didn't know what she was trying to do but any reaction would be good. Although, she grabbed his teddy bear anyway, Kara loves teddies and cuddles her bunny teddy every night when she goes to sleep.... or the nights when she actually sleeps which isn't very often. Cuddling his teddy as she held it tightly to her chest, cuddling it like a baby she smiled over at Tuesday. "He's so cuddly" she muttered while placing her hand over her mouth as she yawned unexpectedly, she hadn't slept in four days but she hadn't yawned before, she thought that was quite weird. It was actually almost comfortable the way Kara would talk and Tuesday listen. This was slowly becoming something that could probably get Tuesday talking more and more again. Then again, he really didn't know if he could do it for much longer. He felt way more comfortable with Keegan, in his dorm or somewhere quiet and peaceful.
Like the backwall was before Kara came along. Not that he detested Kara's company, he just. . . was complicated. Blinking as he heard Kara's voice, Tuesday looked over at her. Oh, she was talking to him. Whoops. He should pay more attention, he wasn't a rude person by heart. So being polite and actually listening to a person would be the best route. And it would also probably keep people from taking Keegan away from them if he knew his 'yes ma`am's and 'no ma`am's.
Smiling at her concern, Tuesday nodded. He probably doubted the bouncy Kara would be able to hurt him, intenionally or not, but it was nice to know she knew she could hurt him. He understood that much, since Christofer liked to play rough sometimes. It was funny. Sometimes when he came back from school or hiding away in his room, Christofer would snatch Keegan away and goad him into play fighting with him.
Tuesday usually almost always ended up whining about it, but he joined in the wrestling match anyway. They'd toussel about, occasionally knocking down a vase or two. Or three to four with their sessions. Tuesday could remember the nastiest scoldings they got from some of their nannies and maids about making messes. But Tuesday always seemed to get him and Christofer out of the worst of it with his puppy dog eyes and lip quiver.
Christofer called him a sneaky manipulator. He could probably steal an entire bank's money with a simple question and a pout if he tried. Or so Christofer joked. A slight shiver ran up his arms as the wind suddenly picked up. That was odd. He glanced up, spying a few trees that swayed in the wind over somewhere else. A bird chirped and Tuesday trained his attention back to Kara.
He guessed. . . he was socializing. If not with one person that is. Tuesday grimaced, tugging at the hem of his shirt once more. He looked down at his shirt nervously as he fiddled with the hem of it. He didn't get why he couldn't talk with others very well. He would eventually clam up and they'd get fed up with him. They'd leave him all alone again. So that was why Keegan was his best, best, best friend and Christofer is the only one he allowed near him.
". . . .it's complicated. I-I don't know why I can d-do it sometimes and. . .then not an-another time." He replied quietly, brown eyes downcast. Tuesday perked up a bit at the compliment to his and Keegan's names. He liked Keegan's name. He sometimes imagined their names were the other way around, when he was alone and had absolutely nothing to do. It amused him lots when he would talk to Keegan and use 'Tuesday' instead.
Looking up at Kara, Tuesday blinked. Why did she seem so surprised? It was true though, he noted. If she got that sad when talking with someone else about family, then that feeling must absolutely increase when she was alone. It just made sense to Tuesday. He smiled and a small giggle escaped from his lips. Tuesday widened his eyes at the 'cuddly' statement before covering his mouth to keep the rest of the laughter that threatened to flow up back.
". . .m-mnn yeah." he spoke quietly, looking over at the yawning Kara curiously. She didn't seem like the kind of person who wouldn't be able to have a good night sleep. She looked just the opposite. Rainbows, unicorns and sugarplums seemed to radiate from her happiness and cheer. It surprised Tuesday to think that she was really that peppy and cheery.

Kara was glad that Tuesday had shared his tiger with her, she could see him becoming slightly more confident as they talked to each other, she liked that. Continuing to cuddle his teddy bear, she looked like she wouldn't give it back any time soon but of course she would.... when she was finished with it, Kara never knows what's right and wrong most of the time and will go by her own standards. She would have to be told to give something back or to put something down like a small child would, it's just a charm to her that some people like about her, that she is so childlike but she blames that on the fact that she has been mollycuddled for most of her life, never allowed to do something risky and always having to stick to the rules, be the good girl.
She's happy that she's talking to him though, when you start Kara talking it's hard for her to stop. However, she's not always in the mood for talking, she can go for periods of weeks where she doesn't feel like talking to anybody and then one day she could just start talking again so she's not always as cheery as she seems. It's never anything to worry about though, according to Kara anyway. She has relapses in her post traumatic stress disorder where she can just block herself out from the world, some people understood but others thought it was weird that she could be fine one day and not so much the next.
Feeling like she knew Tuesday now she wanted to grab and run with him and show him to her other friends, like a new toy. Kara always thought of new friends as new toys. You could play with them to see what makes them tick and eventually you would find out exactly what you liked and didn't like about them. She always liked to know why she was drawn to people as she has always been interested in areas of psychology, that's why sometimes you can find her snooping around a counsellor's room when they're not in it because she's looking for something psychology related that she can sit and learn from. "It can't be that complicated. You're talking just now and that's all the matters, right?" she smiled happily, Kara liked to focus on the present, what happened in the past should stay in the past and it shouldn't worry anybody what will happen in the future, she lives for just now. Cuddling his tiger again she rested her head on it and found is soft enough to fall asleep on as a pillow. After she yawned she looked up sheepishly. "sorry" she muttered softly. "I didn't get much sleep last night...or the one before" That was only half the truth though, Kara never liked to go to sleep because she always had vivid night terrors of the fire that killed her mum and sister but she never liked to admit it. Tuesday watched in almost silent awe at how tightly Kara was cuddling Keegan. He really didn't have the heart to tell Kara he really wanted Keegan back and he would probably end up feeling pretty dang guilty if he took Keegan away by force. Shifting in his comfortable spot against the wall, Tuesday finally allowed his legs to stretch out from their cramped up position earlier. Talking with Kara was slowly. . . getting easier and easier.
It didn't unnerve him like it usually did when he talked with the nurses or counsellors. Perhaps he could hang around Kara some more, since she seemed pretty mellow when she wanted. Like a really really excitable puppy if talked to the right way. Mentally rolling his eyes at the horrid metaphore, Tuesday looked over at Kara. Well. . .she was right about him talking. But it still was sort of scary to talk. It was like there was something in the back of Tuesday's mind, screeching at him to just bolt and hide away under his blankets and cuddle Keegan.
Shaking his head at the thought, he smiled slightly at Kara's words. Of course, she was right. If the other teens here didn't like the way Tuesday acted then he shouldn't worry. But then again. . .he didn't want them to not like him. It was almost like an extremely complicated riddle. Or puzzle. That sounded more like it though. He shrugged and fiddled about with his shirt sleeve. ". . .mnn, I guess. . .you're right." He agreed, a smile blossoming on his pale features.
Kara was pretty nice. She gave helpful advice and everything. Hearing her shift about, he trained his eyes almost longingly on Keegan's cuddled form. He could wait his turn. Really. He could wait until Kara was through. He wasn't a mean or a rude kid, so this would be a snap. Nodding to himself absentmindedly, he almsot didn't hear Kara's apology.
Looking over at her, he smiled sympathetically. She didn't get much sleep? Frowning at her words, Tuesday mulled it over. She should get more sleep if she seemed that tired. Meeting her sheepish gaze, Tuesday bit his lip, worry clear in his eyes. "You didn't get much. . .sleep?" He couldn't help but echo her words as he fretted. Yeah, Kara could definitely still use Keegan as a cuddle buddy and semi-pillow.
Tuesday did that too. Use Keegan as a pillow whenever he had an especially mean encounter with someone. It calmed him down lots and helped him think about things. A problem that he had would usually end up being solved with a little rest and a good cuddle session with Keegan. Maybe he could lend Kara Keegan? Biting his lip just a little bit harder, Tuesday dismissed the idea. Not a chance he was going to leave Keegan with Kara.
Even though that sounded extremely selfish in his head, Tuesday probably knew it was better. He would've ended up panicking and tearing up everything and anything in his dorm or in the hallways for Keegan. And he couldn't handle that. Not a chance. Silently, Tuesday debated whether or not to tell Kara she should go rest.
He hated his indecisive nature and how cautious he was. Pros: Kara would be able to sleep and perhaps get some rest. Cons: He'd end up letting her take Keegan along with her. Which would equal panic and chaos for Tuesday. Pausing in his lip biting, Tuesday worriedly looked at Kara next to him. "M-Maybe. . .you should try and. . get more sleep. ." he murmured, looking down at the squished tiger in her hands.
