DESCRPTION
Danny’s almost always got a big, goofy grin on his face. Partly because he’s just a happy kind of guy, and partly because he’s usually doped out of his mind. He’s kind of scruffy-looking, with facial hair and long-ish wavy brown hair, which he usually forgets to comb. He’s not really good with the whole…remembering-to-do-stuff thing. It’s kind of a drag, and he’s usually way too high to care.
He’s near-sighted, really near-sighted, to the point that if he loses his black rim glasses he needs someone to lead him around. He’d wear contacts, but even he’s aware enough to realize he’d probably put an eye out trying to put them in. He’s got a ton of tattoos, some of which he doesn’t really remember getting. He doesn’t mind it really much, because it’s a nice surprise sometimes when he finds a new one. ‘Oh, look, Snoopy’s bird friend. Sweet.’
As for clothes, he’s not exactly fashionable. He has almost nothing in the way of pants other than old beat-up pairs of jeans (knees naturally torn up, rather than torn when made so it can be priced higher) and a couple old cargos. As for shirts, he tends to wear old t-shirts, especially old band ones, like his favorite old black one for The Ramones. That’s pretty much all he’s got, and even those don’t get much cleaning. He’s a pretty big slob. The only thing he really remembers to take care of is his chin piercing, because otherwise even he couldn’t take the gross.

OVERALL PERSONALITY[/b]
It’s hard to tell when Danny’s on drugs. That’s because of both his personality and the type of drug he prefers. He’s just a really happy, dopey guy most of the time. He’s not really interested in getting in fights or being grumpy, and he’ll avoid conflict whenever he can. Negative emotions are a real turn-off for him.
He’s, uh, not the brightest guy, either. Danny did alright enough in school (partly because he tests well), but he’s not the sharpest bulb in the drawer. His areas of expertise are rather…eclectic. In fact, he wavers on the edge of idiot savant when it comes to chemistry, where he’s surprisingly knowledgeable. He can rattle off facts about just about any painkiller you can name, including acting chemicals and varying levels of effectiveness on him. And he’s a weirdly big fan of shoujo anime and manga.
Otherwise, though, he’s a bit…daft. Danny likes to daydream, and can get lost in his own little world. That leads people to think he’s rather strange (besides than his other eccentricities, obviously). He just has an active imagination, which can sometimes carry him away. It can be difficult to get his attention if he’s really far away, though.
He can also be a bit dense and lack the ability to be very self-aware. He doesn’t notice that people think he’s strange, or that he has a problem, or that his lack of ambition is a problem. For all the time he spends thinking, he’s not really that introspective. He can delude himself pretty well, and sometimes he has no idea when someone is using him. He’s also pretty gullible.
He really doesn’t have any ambitions, either. Danny pretty much wants to just find a simple, happy place and just stay there as long as possible. He has no goals or life dreams other than that, and it’s pretty much why he keeps going to rehab. He likes it there. It’s a nice place.
Danny is a very sweet guy, and is always willing to lend a hand. He’s unfailingly friendly to people, often even to those who aren’t as such to him. It’s really of no matter to him, and he very rarely holds grudges. If anyone ever needs a shoulder to cry on and a fount of simple, well-meaning advice, he’s always open to it. Provided he’s not so zoned out on painkillers he doesn’t even know they’re there.
To people who don’t know better, he can exude a sort of zen calm. It’s not unusual to find him in a corner, quietly staring into the distance with a thoughtful expression on his face, and his apparel can suggest a sort of beatnik student-philosopher pondering the mysteries of existence. Don’t be fooled, though. He’s thinking about Hello Kitty.

`IF YOU THINK I'D LEAVE THEN YOU WERE WRONG
cause i wont stop holding on
Daniel Asher was born in 1983 in the state of Michigan, where he would be raised for the rest of his life. His parents were Joel and Marni Asher, a dentist and house wife respectively. The couple had been married for a few years when they welcomed their first son, having been high school sweethearts when they first tied the knot. It took awhile to conceive, but they were very happy when he arrived. A few years later they had another son, Jonah.
Danny really had a pretty average childhood. His parents have always been stupidly happy together, keeping their few fights for when the boys weren’t around. They’re just a good match, and their years together before they could conceive made them very comfortable as a couple. The two know each other well, and are both pretty genial people. Perhaps that’s where Danny got his attitude.
Joel is a pretty successful dentist, which means that they’ve lived a pretty nice life. They lived in a nice suburban area near good schools with a low crime rate, with fairly pristine lawns and nice-sized houses. They even had a nice nearby synagogue, despite them not being all that religious. Really, it’s a surprise Danny didn’t turn out all that great. His parents certainly did the best they could.
Danny was a pretty happy, sweet little kid, though not terribly bright. His parents did wonder occasionally if he was a bit slow, but he seemed alright and when he started school, he did well enough to pass, so they decided not to worry. Danny wasn’t all that fond of school, but he was such an easy-going kid that he didn’t complain too much.
It was about at high school where they began to hit a slight…speed bump, if you will. It was during that time that he began to become a bit more lazy and unkempt, but more that in junior year a friend of his bought some marijuana for them to try. Danny had never tried drugs, but he didn’t really have anything against them, and maintained kind of an ‘anything once’ sort of attitude.
It turned out that he liked it. Quite a bit. Enough that they became a regular staple of his activities for the rest of high school and on into his time at Hampshire College, where he was lucky enough to get in. Danny quite enjoyed his time there due to the fact he was allowed to study chemistry and art, both of which he had a particular fondness of, and the abundance of pot didn’t exactly dampen that enthusiasm.
Shortly after he graduated, he was in an accident. He was driving on a slick, icy road back home in Michigan when his car was hit by another, which skidded out of control and veered both of them off the road into a ditch. He was lucky enough to have his cell phone on him to call for help, but he did suffer moderate injuries in the crash, and had to be taken to the hospital. While there, they hooked him up to some painkillers.
Something just clicked. As fun as marijuana was, prescription was much more what he wanted. There was little he liked more than being half-passed out on a Morphine drip. After he got out of the hospital, he began craving it, and found himself intentionally getting injured a few times just to go back to the hospital for more painkillers. His parents finally caught on and asked him about it one day, and—being both not terribly bright and quite high at the time—he amiably admitted what he’d been doing.
They were horrified and shipped him off to rehab, which he was very against until about a week in when he realized that the place was kind of nice. The people were pleasant (the ones who weren’t, he was too dense to tell), they took care of him, and he wasn’t expected to do anything but not get high. There were no pressures to find a job and start on a career. Just to not get wasted. He missed it, but rehab was otherwise quite a nice place, and when it came time, he was very reluctant to leave.
As soon as he got out, he restarted his pattern of injury and hospital stays. This frustrated his parents, and as soon as he was discharged from the hospital, they sent him to another rehab, which suited him perfectly well. Since then he’s bounced from drugs to rehab, quite happy with either, and likely to continue in this manner for the forseeable future, his parents reluctant to try a ‘tough love’ tactic for fear of him injuring himself too badly attempting to get more drugs, and uncertain he could support himself.
