It was strange, but there was something about doing the wrong thing that excited Lola immensely. It was the early hours of the morning when everything was still dark, which made it the ideal time for sneaking around for a stroll in the dark. Most normal people would say that the ideal time for a stroll would be during the day time, but Lola was far from normal. She constantly longed for adventure and excitement and that meant breaking the rules every once in a while. She may be classed as crazy, but even crazy people deserve to have a little fun every now and then.
Lola walked gracefully through the corridors, with nothing but the moon light outside shining eerily through the barred windows. That didn't matter to Lola, she knew exactly where she was going because she had been there countless of times prior to tonight. She walked silent as a cat towards the door leading down to the basement, now having changed so she could move more silently through the night. She wore a plain black mini dress with grey stockings and carried her black Doc Marten boots in her hand so that they didn't make any noise on the hard floor. She had managed to pick the lock to her room with a bobby pin as the staff always locked everyone's doors at bed time for the patients own "safety".
Lola was going to meet Tristan (or Jake as he liked to be called) and Kara (who Lola liked to call Little K) so they could join her on her stroll, she would have been content with going alone as she tended to do alot, but she was in the mood for a little company. When Lola reached the basement door it was locked. She sighed quietly before getting out her bobby pin again and began working her magic expertly on the lock, occasionally glancing down the corridor, looking out for any members of the staff that just might want to ruin her evening.
It took a little effort before the door swung open silently but with a slight creaking sound. Not fussed, Lola wandered into the dark towards the light switch on the wall. "Let there be light..." She murmured before switching the light on. The room she was in was merely the entrance to the secret place where the patients hung out. Lola sat down on the floor with her back leaning against the concrete wall as she waited for her companions to arrive with a sly smirk on her face, please with herself with getting away with breaking the rules yet again.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- take a breath, 'cause it sounds so easy never out of doubt now i'm going crazy watching from the floor take a breath It was good that Jake was finally going out, well, if you called it going out. Sneaking out to the basement to meet a few people in the dead of night wasn’t exactly the same as going out. Not having any freedom annoyed the hell out of Jake. He was still pretty pissed off with his parents for sending him to Michigan State. Sure, there was plenty of opportunities to hook up and get drunk, if you knew how to get around the nurses and doctors, but it still wasn’t the same as being at home. Being cooped up really wasn’t the lifestyle for Jake, but he’d been promised that on good behaviour he would be allowed early. He was hoping before he turned eighteen. No way would his eighteenth birthday be that enjoyable when still stuck in the prison like state. Even if it was supposed to help him for the better.
With a sigh Jake clambered off his mattress on which he was sprawled across in a bored manner, his battered laptop resting on his laps now placed behind him on the plain grey quilts. They could at least invest in a decorator, Tristan thought as he yawned and wandered over to one of the view cupboards in the square dormitory. He wasn’t exactly planning to wander the building in just his tracksuit bottoms, might as well pull on a t-shirt and hoody to look presentable. Before checking his dormitory mates were asleep Jake pulled a black ‘Bullet for my Valentine’ hoodie over his bare chest, rolling the sleeves up and slipping on one of his most expensive possessions, his watch.
Everyone was asleep; it seemed the perfect time to escape. With a ruffle of his hair the seventeen year old reached under his pillow, pulling out a small key, although it was obvious the key was a fake. He’d spent ages persuading one of the cleverer kids to help him make a copy, before stealing it for his own personal use. The key clicked perfectly into place, and Jake let himself out of the room, slipping the key into the pocket of his jumper and quietly trudging down the corridor in the direction of the basement.
The way to the basement wasn’t that hard to remember, nearly everyone had been there more than once. It was the one place the staff at the teen prison didn’t actually check out of hours. Which Jake thought was rather careless, but then again, he wasn’t complaining. Padding silently down the stairs it was in no time at all that Jake reached the floor of the basement. The light was already on, and the door was unlocked, grinning Tristan realised that either Kara or Lola had already arrived. With a push of the door he entered the room himself, brown eyes falling on the tall skinny girl sitting on the floor, “Heck, you got here quick” He said with a grin, “Someone’s eager, eh?” he plonked himself beside her, maybe a little too close for comfort, but Jake always got extremely close, when it was wanted or not. “So, how’s it holding up dear Lola?” He grinned, brushing a hand through his hair and smiling creepily at her.

Kara was a little unsure about leaving her cell room to go out with Lola and Jake, she wanted to because it sounded fun to be a rebel but she was scared that they might get caught, Kara hates when she gets into trouble and the nurses and guards are scary, according to her. She liked her bed too, it was warm and cosy as she wrapped the quilt around her, she didn't want to get out but she wanted to go with Lola and Jake, it seemed more fun than listening to the silence. She figured that she couldn't exactly go out with her spongebob pyjamas on though, they would probably laugh at her or something. Hopping from her bed she turn her bedside light on and she thought it was strange that she didn't bother her room-mates, they were obviously so fast asleep, she scanned the clothes that lay across the floor but decided on something that was properly clean. Pulling the drawer out from unerneath her bed she pulled out her red skinny jeans and black and white stripy t-shirt and threw them on and she couldn't be bothered to find her shoes, she would just go bare feet. She was tired, that was her excuse for being lazy; she hadn't slept in around four days and it was taking it's toll on her.
Yanking the door open as it creaked on the old hindges she cringed, Kara hates high pitched noises; they scare her in a strange way, it sounds like something from a horror movie or something. Closing the door quietly she tip toed down the overly clean white corridor while tieing her hair up in a ponytails from the black bouble she always kept on her wrist. She stuck to the sides of the corridor, next to the wall, so she was less likely to be caught if anybody saw her, she was always scared she would get into trouble or something and being the little innocent thing she is she hates trouble.
Making her way down to the basement she smiled a little that she hadn't been caught and she saw the light coming from the bsement as she neared closer. Skipping in through the door, a grin spread across her pretty face. "Hi guys" she chimed happily, walking over and sitting down on the floor next to Lola and crossing her legs like a child. Lola closed her eyes and took in the silence off the basement as she waited for Jake and Kara to arrive. Most people would have been a little anxious about being alone in a creepy basement, especially a basement that belonged to an aslym that was rumored to be haunted by the spirits of ex-patients, but Lola was completely at ease. The silence soothed her and gave her a chance to prepare for the fun that was in store.
Lola's eyes slowly opened as she turned her head to the basement door and watched Jake emerge from it. She knew he wouldn't back down from her invitation, he was always up for some fun, but she had her doubts about Kara who seemed so innocent. Still, they would wait to see if she turned up. "I'm very eager." Lola replied, a smirk forming on her lips as Jake sat himself down next to her. She wasn't fussed by how close he had placed himself, for he had been even closer to her when they slept together. If anything, she enjoyed his warmth which made her realize that she should have brought a jacket, but she was good at ignoring the cold for she had been in colder places in skimpier outfits before. "I'm well, thank you Tristan." Lola replied, smirk still intact. Whenever Jake emphasized her name like that, she'd emphasize his real name just to be cheeky.
As Kara stepped through the door, Lola's eyebrows raised in surprise. "Wow, I'm surprised you made it Little K, but I'm impressed that you did." Lola stated as Kara closed the door behind her. "Take a seat." Lola offered, patting the spot next to her, knowing that she shouldn't be pleased with herself for being a bad influence on someone like Kara, but she was extremely pleased. Did that make her evil, trying to corrupt innocent souls? A wicked smile curved onto Lola's lips at the thought of this.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- blood runs through my veins i gave up everything for fame i am lie that you adore now feed the rich, and fuck the poor The basement was a pretty basic room, large, spacious and practically empty. The staff at Michigan State rarely used this end of the basement, apart for storing old and broken pieces of equipment and cabinets of dusty files. The inmates sure found use of the space from time to time. Why waste something with potential?
Fiddling with his hair for more than just a second, Jake turned to face Lola, who he’d just plonked down beside on the basement floor. He was forever concerned about his appearance, although there never was a time when Tristan thought he looked less than average, vanity just came naturally. Grinning at her reply, one thing he liked about Lola is that she flirted back; they were alike in some sense, unlike other girls who just blushed and muttered shy thankyous. With the grin still on his face he moved his hand, aiming for her waist but was distracted when Kara skipped happily into the cold basement room.
Moving his hands back to his lap he looked over at her as she sat the other side of Lola, throwing her a wink whilst examining her outfit. “Morning Freckles” he said with the sly smile that barely ever escaped his lips. It was technically morning, being past midnight, so Jake believed his greeting to be very correct indeed. The name Freckles had come from nowhere in particular, Tristan liked his nicknames, whether it was to be simply annoying or so he didn’t have to bother remembering people’s names, he would give everyone a nickname.
“Give her some credit babe, she may look innocent, but who knows, eh?” He said, grinning stupidly and pushing the sleeves of his black hoodie again. He yawned and shuffled closer to Lola, “So, what’s in store tonight then ladies?” He asked, wondering if anyone, Lola especially, had thought up a plan for what they could do in a way of entertainment. Jake himself had plenty of ideas, although he was almost certain that half of them wouldn’t be appropriate, “How can I be of assistance?” He joked, the stupid grin still present on his face.

Kara felt like she might get into trouble somehow, maybe one of her cell mates had seen her sneak out and had called somebody and told them that she had escaped her room in the middle of the night when they weren't supposed to. She's usually a good girl and does everything she's told in hope that if she's on her best behaviour and doesn't show as many signs of her "illness" then she will get to go home, she would love to go home, preferably sooner rather than later. As she sat down next to Lola she felt safer than before, it would just be her to get into trouble if they were caught, that thought comforted her in a way. Smiling in her girly way at Jake when he called her freckles she poked her tongue out at him in her childlike fashion. "it's night?" she questioned, she knew she should be sleeping just now and you go to sleep at night so why was he talking about morning? it confused her.
Listening to Lola saying about that she was surprised that she actually came, she was surprised that she thought that of her. Did Lola really think she was as innocent as she looked? she knew she would have to change that opinion. Kara can be a little devil at times, when she wants to be. She likes to cause mischief and run around to annoy people but that's only when she's in a really happy mood or a very cheeky one. "course i would' a come. I don't get called Tigger for nothing" she didn't really have any idea what she was talking about, she was just trying to say that Lola shouldn't think so little of her but it always came out in strange ways that didn't make sense to others but herself.
She nodded her head almost enthusiastically as Jake spoke, she knew she was worth more than people took her for. Just because she was the "good girl" didn't mean that she couldn't have fun sometimes and if she knew she wasn't going to get caught then you could always take it further and go the whole whack. ".....yeah, what are we supposed to do? we like come here and there's nothing to do, it's a creepy old basement, great place thinking Lola." She did think it was a bit silly that they had come to the basement now, all that was kept down here was patient files and old stuff that was no longer needed, she came up with an idea, she hoped it was an idea but it sounded a bit stupid even to her. "We could raid the file cabinets?" she laughed slightly, that as about the most entertaining thing she could think of down here. Flirting with Jake just came natural...okay flirting came natural to Lola regardless of who the guy was, but Jake proved to be one of her favorites to flirt with despite the fact that that he was one of the easiest to seduce. In many ways, she and Jake were on the same level. Jake's reputation portrayed him as a bit of a man whore and Lola's reputation portrayed her as a psycho slut who partied way too much, but that didn't fuss either of them in the slightest. They never judged each other, they didn't even have to talk about their reputations, for their understanding of where the other person was coming from was already there.
"That's true." Lola replied to Jake's comment about Kara with a smirk, looking at Jake and then Kara with a mischievous glint in her eyes. Lola's face filled with confusion as Kara began speaking nonsense. "I don't know what that means Little K, but I'm glad you're here." She replied, her face returning to its relaxed state once more as she smiled in amusement.
Lola smirked knowingly at Kara's complaints as she pulled herself up off the cold, hard basement floor. What? They hadn't seriously been thinking that she had asked them to meet her here without a plan for their stroll? Lola always had a plan. "I think raiding the cabinets is a marvelous idea Little K." Lola replied as if she knew something they didn't know. The smirk never left her face before striding over to the cabinets on the other side of the room.
"And Jake, you can assist in whatever way you like." She replied to Jake's question, looking back at her two companions still sitting on the floor before turning back to face the cabinets. "Myself on the other hand...well, let's just say I'm going to get this party started." Lola stated before opening the top draw in front of her. She reached inside and pulled out a flashlight first and with her free hand she reached inside again, pulling out a large bottle of vodka that she had been keeping hidden safe from prying eyes for an occasion like this one. Lola turned around to face Jake and Kara. "Anyone up for a ghost hunt?" She asked with a smile, insanity hinting at the corners of her mouth, her eyes glinted with a hint of madness. Excitement made Lola do crazy things. Oh yes, she would make sure that they had fun tonight.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i'm a running monologue running away running fast through the back of my head i'm gonna run you out i'm gonna take you down Jake grinned at Kara’s childlike impression, although nearly the same age she sure did look and act much younger than himself and Lola at times, but in all honesty he thought it was rather adorable. This could be a problem, Jake found almost anyone with legs attractive and potential bed material, though, and his choices didn’t always end up the best choice. Besides he had been sent to Michigan State for his exaggerated sexual tendencies, hell did they know that nothing was actually going to stop him being this flirtatious and needy. Jake had a one track mind, everyone knew that, it wasn’t likely to change anytime soon. People had always told him that he never thinks with his brain. That statement was more true than you’d like to think.
Still grinning, but not as manically as before, he replied to her rhetorical question, checking the watch on his wrist, “Very early morning then Freckles” He said, as if that conversation wad now settled.
He frowned at the comment about Tigger, not understanding what she had meant by that and was about to question the Winnie The Pooh reference, but decided against it, examining the basic basement again, searching for something interesting. “S’nothing creepy about this place hun, worst it gets it’s a couple of spiders” He said, smiling at Kara, who still looked her innocent self, as he crossed his lanky legs whilst letting out a yawn and linking his fingers together boredly.
“Ooo, the joy of filing cabinets” Tristan said unenthusiastically, the sarcasm incredibly obvious, he didn’t see the appeal in reading ex-inmates files, surely nobody would be that interesting. They were all pretty much here for the same few things, just modified and shuffled about a bit, “I doubt they’d be an explicit details of murder” which to Jake meant they were going to be dull and totally not worth him reading. Not unless it involved gossip, confided information or anything out of the ordinary.
He frowned as Lola agreed with this ‘marvellous idea’. He still wasn’t convinced. Surely, they could think of better things to do. Jake surely had much better things on his mind. Two girls and him in an empty basement? This boys mind shouldn’t be allowed to wander.
The frown was still apparent on his face when Lola didn’t respond to his hinted question like he had wanted to her, and he was about to say something else before he spotted the bottle of vodka now gripped in her hands. Hopping up from his spot on the cold basement floor he walked over to where she was standing with the flashlight and alcohol, seemingly appearing from nowhere, and grinned. Okay, now maybe the night could be made enjoyable. Reading the files in the cabinets would probably be much more amusing when pissed out of their heads. “A ghost hunt?” Jake laughed, repeating her suggestion, raising an eyebrow at the absurd suggestion, “So what, we are now the newly recruited Ghostbusters?” He chuckled ruffling his hair with his hands, still eyeing up the vodka, “Whatever floats your boat sweetcheeks” He shrugged, sending her a wink.

All thoughts al getting into trouble had now completely disappeared from Kara, she was going to enjoy herself, she was here now so why not? Kara can be a worrier but it never lasts for very long until she gets distracted with something else. She was glad that she was with Lola and Jake though, she considered them her older sister and brother as long as she was in Michigan State, although she has a little school girl crush on Jake so thinking on him as her brother seems rather strange. She wishes sometimes she could just sit and hug Jake but she knew that he would take that as something else, knowing how he thinks. She wishes that she could just come out with that she likes Jake but she thinks she would get laughed at for having a crush on the player of the institution and she always too shy to say anything too which doesn't help matters either.
Smiling at Lola when she told her she didn't know what she was taking about, she slowly nodded her head and thought it was quite amusing, not a lot of people knew what she was talking about sometimes. She knew it was only her family that fully understood her and her strange thoughts and antics. She wished she could go home to her family, she knew they could probably take better care of her than the staff here, she missed them. She was trying to be sarcastic when she mentioned raiding the file cabinets but if Lola took her seriously she wasn't going to argue over it. Shrugging her shoulders when Lola mentioned that it was a good idea, she watched her as she walked over to the cabinets. Diverting her attention over to Jake she couldn't understand why he was calling her freckles but she wasn't going to complain, but when he mentioned spiders she cringed. Kara hates spiders, one of her biggest fears. Spiders creep her out, what do they need all those legs for? Bringing her hand up to her face she started to chew lightly on her index finger and shake her head. "I don't like spiders, if there's spiders in here I don't wanna stay, they're horrible" she muttered as she uncrossed her legs and brought them up and rested her chin on her knees, wrapping her arms around her legs.
Watching Lola pull out the bottle of vodka and a flashlight she perked her head up, she was wondering where this was going, she didn't know if she liked it. "Ghost hunt?" Kara didn't know if that was a good idea, she had heard lots of stories about ghosts of inmates who killed themselves here and that there was ghosts everywhere, it freaked her out a little. She does like paranomal stuff but to her ghosts are a different story altogether. Although, listening to Jake she laughed a little, comparing them to the ghostbusters calmed her a little, she loves that movie ever since she was young enough to understand it. Ghostbusters? yeahh, gosh lets go for it. I just hope we don't meet any big green blobs" she giggled quietly as she stood on her feet and wandered over to Jake and Lola, she felt a little silly though, she looked like a little girl compared to them bacuse they were so much taller than her. Lola smirked gleefully as she watched her plan unravel. She loved to keep people guessing as to what she was going to do next, it made the situation exciting for her. Lola grinned at Jake as he walked over to her, pleased that he was beginning to see what she had in store for them. "I guess you could call us 'Ghostbusters'...only minus the ugly jumpsuits and plus a bottle of vodka." Lola replied to Jake's question with an amused smile, mischief dancing in her eyes.
Her glance shifted to Kara as she stood up and wandered over to them. "Don't worry Little K, I promise that there are no green blobs." Lola replied with a silent chuckle, sparing her the kind of ghosts that she had in mind. Lola imagined psycho spirits of old inmates that had killed themselves when they were living. She had also heard stories about doctors at Michigan State performing cruel experiments down in the basement several decades ago. Who knew how many failed experiments went on? How many inmates had died? More importantly, where and how had they been disposed of? That thought made even Lola feel at unease, but she was still excited to explore none the less.
"Hold these will you?" Lola asked, but before waiting for an answer, she handed the flashlight to Kara and handed the bottle of vodka to Jake. "Remember that's for all of us." Lola said to him with a flirtatious wink before returning to the place that they had sat down to retrieve her boots, sliding them on easily, not bothering to do up the laces. Afterwards, she returned to the cabinets where Jake and Kara were standing. Getting a good grip on the side of the cabinet, she managed to push it aside, it wasn't hard to move by herself as the cabinet had wheels. Behind the cabinet was a door. Lola placed her hand on the doorknob (which was unlocked) and turned it, opening the door to reveal a dark, abandoned corridor on the other side. "You ready?" Lola asked Jake and Kara with a smirk, as she turned to face them. She was bubbling with excitement now.
