Famine. Plague. War.
Such are the penalties of sin, to be heard preached on every street corner in the Westlands, for those who care to stop and listen to the ramblings of the pious. Few do: people have their own woes, and both the toil of the common and the games of the noble take precedence over the Wrath of the Creator.
But this age of complacency is coming to an end, though few see the clouds gathering on the horizon.

The Gathering Storm is a new Wheel of Time RPG set before Robert Jordan's first novel, The Eye of the World. Our focus, to begin with, is not on the Dragon Reborn, but on the the vast empire the Children of the Light have established in Jordan's world and the struggles of a once free people under this new rule. The Aes Sedai are one of many prominent groups chafing beneath the heavy hand of the Whitecloaks, with whispers of a possible war between the two factions ghosting through the streets of Tar Valon. Will the White Tower stand against the spreading rule of the Children, or will it crumble in the shadow of the radical faction's presence?
Sides will be chosen. Blood will be spilt. Friends betrayed, oaths broken, bonds shattered, and lives lost. The storm is gathering. Where will you stand when it breaks?

The setting of the board is essentially medieval (With several added qualities, of course), which allows those who have not read the books freedom and some leeway. It is not required that you read the series, though it does greatly facilitate understanding. A tome is provided that covers factions, races, countries, and other terminology of import to the Wheel of Time series.
This website possesses an intermediate to advanced level of writing atmosphere, with a 250 word limit per IC (In character) post, to ensure quality of the threads and storyline. The content of the board ranges from PG-13 to Mature rated material.
The staff is fun and very active, reachable by PM or any instant messaging program almost nightly. We as a group have decided upon some newer (And hopefully exciting) additions to the WoT world, but we’re always open to ideas and suggestions.
