At midnight, on New Years Eve, nobody bothered to ring in the New Year. Why was that? The year was 2012; the dreaded year that was supposed to bring the end of the world had finally come.
Yet, while others worried about the end of the world, hospitals around the United States faced a problem. A strand of Influenza was floating around. But it was flu season - it was expected for it to take some lives and impair people for good periods of time ... However, in the back of their minds, the doctors of the hospitals knew that something was wrong. Something about this strand of Influenza just wasn't normal.
"Ladies and Gentlemen of the United States of America, we have discovered important news about Influenza G .... The virus is, in-deed, a mutated strand of Influenza A, H1N1, more commonly known as the swine flu. However, in many ways, it's not. Since the time of it's original creation, it has mutated in at least ten different ways, each one more deadly than the other. That's the main reason as to why people are dying so quickly ...
After working for two weeks around the clock to figure out just what this killer is, we have come to a horrible conclusion. This virus, more commonly known as Influenza G, is a man made weapon of mass destruction."
The world was thrown into a panic. Left and right, hospitals started shutting down. Countries suspended air traffic … but in the midst of all this panic, one hospital is still standing strong. Mercy Hospital, one of the smaller hospitals in New York City. All over the world, hospitals that are attempting to stand strong, look at Mercy Hospital as a sign of hope in a apocalyptic world. The doctors of the hospital are pulling their hair out of their heads in hopes of a cure. But when all goes wrong, it's the little bit of hope that pulls them through everything ...
But how soon will it be before Mercy Hospital falls just like the others before it?
