shush girl, shut your lips , ( DO THE HELLEN KELLER & TALK WITH YO HIPS )

s Kirsten contemplated her escape plan, she saw a boy come out from the door just like she had. And it looked awfully like… Katsuo?! Why the hell had he been in the room when she hadn’t even noticed him go in, in the first place?! Her eyes instantly went down and saw the blazing fire on his legs. She was about to go into a full panic. What kind of idiot was he? She really wanted to help him and was about to move to find something to put out the fire, but she was suddenly in a full on coughing fit. She looked to the side and saw the counselor looking at her. "I...Thank you so much. Thank god you are okay. And you too. How can I repay you?" Kirsten shrugged like it was no big deal and was about to answer, but she had started to cough again and it wasn’t letting up. The smoke had gone deeper into her lungs than she had first thought. She wasn’t breathing correctly. She watched as another person hurdled themselves into the fiery room and out of the corner of her eye noticed another girl approach. Didn’t people understand that they had to get out of the hallway? She watched Katsuo in a panic. “Put that…” she paused to cough some more. “Put that fire out!” she finished, coughing wildly at the end. She put her hand to her mouth but it wasn’t helping. Smoke seeped through her fingers and there was already enough smoke in her system to make her dangerously sick. She bent over unnaturally as she coughed. Her throat and stomach ached. All because she had gotten that stupid counselor’s books! What if she died here in this asylum? She didn’t want to but she wasn’t frightened either. What happened would happen and if she died? Well, that was life. Coughing, she tried her best to stand up. Her parents and little brother and friends… They all came to mind. It was alright since they hated her. They wouldn’t miss her. She didn’t have any right to live. She already had so much pain. It didn’t matter. She painfully stood up and looked around wildly. An idea hit her and she wobbled into an office across the hall. The people inside had deserted it in a hurry. She walked slowly up to the curtains in the office and yanked part of it down. She walked back to where Katsuo and the counselor were. She looked around and saw the girl. She looked a little Asian, like Katsuo. She handed her the curtain she had torn off. “Use this…” she paused to cough again. “Put out the fire.” She pointed to Katsuo so she knew she was talking about the fire on him and not the building. Her energy was spent and Kirsten felt she had tried her best. She sank to her knees, coughing harder than before. Her hand went to her mouth as she coughed. Her eyes were tearing up as she coughed. This was worse than before. She felt weak and wobbly. A nauseous feeling churned in her stomach. She definitely was sick. Weren’t there any doctor’s in this psycho hospital or were there only counselors. She didn’t think she could be helped with or without a doctor anyway. She just hoped the councilor would be happy with her books and that Katsuo’s leg would be all right. Slowly, she looked around and she saw the guy inside the office. He suddenly jumped out of the office and landed on the floor. It looked like he had been doing the same thing she had been doing in the office. Kirsten crawled over slowly. She was right. She saw the names on the folders. There were folders with names of different patients inside and a lot said Celidh Emmerson. What a strange name. It must be the counselor’s. She finally got to the boy’s side. She got out her coughs, covering her mouth with her hand and when she thought it was safe enough, she spoke. “Are you all right?” She was worried since not everyone was crazy enough to jump into a burning office to help a counselor like she was. The guy had guts. But was he alright after going through all that smoke? She knew she wasn’t. She coughed again. Was it her imagination or was the coughing getting worse? She looked around again to check for a doctor. All of the guards weren’t paying attention and some had chickened out and retreated down the halls. Unreliable idiots. She looked around to see if anyone else was in distress. What could she do? She wasn’t able to help anyone in this state! She hated being weak. She was usually stronger than this. She was usually helping. Damn it! She felt so helpless! She was coughing like a maniac, felt sick, couldn’t stand up or even sit correctly and she felt like a dumbass for trying to help everyone else when she couldn’t even help herself. Some brave girl she was, huh? A near death experience should have made her eager to live but she only felt desperate and hopeless. She couldn’t do anything. Maybe, she was meant to die in the fire, no matter how much she didn’t want to. Without realizing it, she took a deep breath of smoke. She choked on the some and started coughing again. She was panicking again and she was afraid. This time it was for herself. She could feel the smoke crawling down her throat. The hand not on her mouth went down on the floor. It propped her up and kept her from falling forward. She couldn’t guarantee that it would keep her up forever. The nauseating feeling in her stomach was going full force and she now had a headache. Her throat was scratchy and her heart rate was going too fast. Her hands felt clammy and she was sweating like crazy. Jodie couldn't think, or talk, or barely breath. She was literally frozen in her spot, watching the blonde girl stumble out of the room, and then Katsuo, his pant leg on fire. Jodie panicked slightly, her eyes growing wider by the second. She jumped, as she realized that the blonde girl was addressing her, telling her to help put the fire out. The blonde girl walked over to Jodie, handing her a piece of curtain, and not looking like she was feeling too hot. Jodie took the piece of curtain hesitantly, and then gasped, as she snapped back into reality. She ran quickly over to Katsuo, her black hair flying behind her and kneeled next to him, wrapping the curtain over the bottom of his pant leg, smothering the fire. A small drop of water fell onto the curtain and sizzled, and Jodie realized that she had been crying. She wasn't really sure why. Of course, the fact that the poor counselor's office was on fire was terrible, but Jodie's emotions were running wild. Katsuo could've gotten seriously hurt in there, and she was honestly a little mad that he ran into the burning office. It was admirable, that he ran in after the blonde girl, but stupid at the same time.
Jodie removed the piece of fabric as the fire went out, hoping that Katsuo's leg hadn't gotten burned or anything from it. His pant leg looked a little singed, but she didn't think there was any serious damage, at least from what she could see. She jumped, hearing some very violent coughing coming from the girl, and Jodie felt another tear leak out. This was bad, this was terrible, and why weren't more staff members here already? She was sure that the counselor had called for help as soon as the fire had started, so where the hell was everyone? This was turning into a really bad fire, and a few teenagers and a counselor, who wasn't much older than they were, weren't going to be able to handle it on their own. There wasn't even a fire extinguisher around from what she could see. Jodie bit her lip, frustrated as she kneeled there, starring at the ground, still clutching the bit of burnt curtain in her hand tightly.
Jodie looked up, at Katsuo was pulled into a hug by the counselor, and then she looked back at the ground, her mouth trying to form words, but her mind not being able to find them. She was confused, frustrated, and feeling a bit too much of everything at the moment, but she was doing her best not to have a meltdown right then and there in front of these people, when they had enough to worry about. She flinched, hearing the girl's coughing start up again, she turned around, looking at the girl, and frowning when she saw how much pain the girl seemed to be in. Jodie starred for a moment, unsure of what she could do or say that might help the girl. She stood up, pacing back and forth, her arms crossed, chewing on her thumbnail. What was Jodie even doing here in the first place? Sure, she'd been secretly hoping that she might run into Katsuo, but not in this kind of situation. Jodie wouldn't have wished this on anyone.

Even when the fire was out and gone, Katsuo still couldn't seem to catch his breath. Despite having covered his mouth with his shirt, he had inhaled a good amount of the smoke. Even now, he was still surrounded by the thick, black stuff. He wasn't going to get a good breath of air unless he went outside! And everyone else in the hallway with him was in the same boat. There were still so many people around, he didn't understand what was going on...Why hadn't everyone left already? Suddenly, Jodie came rushing over, a piece of curtain in her hands. She looking more shocked than Katsuo could ever imagine her looking. Ever wanted to imagine her looking. Seeing her like that was scaring him too. Despite the fact that his pants leg was still on fire, he seemed rooted to the spot, unable to move, possibly just because of the sight of one of his best friends looking so horrified. Thank God Jodie came over in time to help him out, though. She knelt down next to him and put the curtain over his leg. Somehow regaining his senses, Katsuo started beating on the material until the fire was out, neither thinking about nor caring what state his leg might be in later on. Katsuo touched something wet on the curtain and looked up to find that Jodie was crying. She looked so....lost, just clasping the now-useless curtain and staring at the floor, it took everything in Katsuo's power to keep from crying as well. "Jodie...I am sorry..." But he was fine, right? She should start feeling better any second now, because he was okay. But when that didn't seem to be enough, he leaned forward and pulled her into a hug. They were close friends, but he was sure this was the first time they'd hugged like this. Too bad it had to be under such...dark circumstances. "Don't cry," he added, rubbing her back and trying to laugh. "You will make me cry too. I don't want to be a crybaby." Katsuo bit his lip and grimaced, staring at the cold, hard floor of the corridor with tears blurring his eyes. Things were not going well, not at all. Most of all, he felt bad for Ceilidh, who had lost not only her very home-like, very personal office, but obviously gone through a great deal of horror watching her patients dive into the room as a result. Katsuo felt stupid. But he'd had to gone in and at least checked to see if Kirsten was there, right? It was the right thing to do...to make sure one of his friends--or anybody, in general--hadn't gotten trapped "Thank god you are okay."The thing that probably broke Katsuo's heart the most, aside from poor Jodie, was Ceilidh's hug. He pulled away from Jodie in time to accept his counselor's embrace, and he had to admit, though he was well aware of her distress just by the look on her face alone, he hadn't been prepared for the hug. Finally realizing what it all meant, he returned the gesture and tried to keep up his smile. He felt like he'd done more worse than good, like he'd terrified really good friends for selfish reasons. "I am very sorry, Ceilidh." Katsuo pulled away from the hug just in time to see his counselor address someone behind him. Someone who, he realized, turning around, was Kirsten, the girl he'd rushed in to rescue in the first place. So he hadn't totally failed then... She had gotten out of the room without his help, but all that mattered was that she had gotten out at all. Katsuo was feeling an overwhelming combination of tired and sick, but somehow he was so happy to see Kirsten was okay, that he grinned at her and said, "I dare you never to do that again." The happy moment was short-lived, though. The fire was spreading fast from the room and down the hall. Everyone was scattering to get away. Over the roar of the flames, Katsuo could hear the guards yelling at everyone to move. Katsuo didn't want to budge an inch, even though he knew not doing so would have been stupid. He'd never felt so tired before, in his entire life. He looked down at a blackened pants leg and sighed. He didn't feel any pain in that leg, so he assumed he was fine. He was terrified of fire--if he'd been burned, even slightly, he would have known. He knew he'd better start counting his blessings; he was pretty lucky. Katsuo was just getting back to his senses when he saw the other boy he'd first seen in the hallway dive forward and back into the fire. And he thought he'd been insane to do that. The fire was so out of control now, it seemed almost impossible for Chris to get back out. Katsuo was close enough to the office door that he could see in. Yet even scanning the area for a sign of the other guy proved useless. All he could see were the flames. Thinking about what was happening in there, he sent himself into a coughing fit and tried, in vain, to escape the flames by scooting further down the hall on the floor. Far too much time seemed to pass before the other guy finally emerged from the fire, and he was much worse off than any of them. The fire suddenly seemed to be everywhere. Katsuo looked around desperately. Was anyone going to help that other kid? Muse: Whew! /(>_<)\ I typed this all up separate days, so I hope it makes sense.... Outfit: Outfit here! Word Count: 1032

As Chris lay on the floor, barely able to keep his eyes open due to exhaustion, he suddenly realised this was not the way he wanted to go. He would die because of his own actions. He had, for a really long time, been against suicide and thought people who committed suicide were just stupid, and since he started the fire, and was suffocating because of it, it felt as close to a suicide as anything else. Yet, people would call this an accident, Chris would not. Also, experiencing what he was experiencing, he had a moment of guilt. This had gone too out of control. He knew if he ever got out of this alive, he would regret it. He concentrated hard, summoning up as much strength as he possibly could, so he would be able to stand up and get away as fast as he could. He crawled towards the end of the corridor, drawing himself up into a crouching position, but he felt so dizzy, he slumped against the wall, bringing his hand up to his head, as if that was a way to make it all stop. It didn't. He sat still for a while, hoping the whirling in his stomach would soon stop, and his chest heaved and fell rapidly. The smoke was filling his lungs and he was more out of breath than ever. But after a short while, that felt like an eternity to Chris, he managed to draw himself up into a standing position, and he looked back at the great fire, feeling the incredible heat surround him. He watched a few guards trying to put out the fire, but he could see it in their eyes that they didn't really care about the lives of anyone but their own. Most of them seemed to be on the verge of running away, and by the small amount of guards, some had already run away.
Chris limped away from the office, but hadn't made it too far when he felt a loud crash and rumble; he looked back in time to see the office of Ceilidh Emerson give way to the immense pressure, and the walls crumpled down. Chris tried to get out of the way, but a brick from the wall fell down above him, and on his head. He felt the immense pain at the back of his head, before collapsing face-down onto the floor once more and this time he was not getting up again any time soon. The fire whipped at his feet, and seemed to enclose around him. More from the ceiling seemed to be falling down, as it could no longer stand the pressure.

"I am very sorry, Ceilidh." Were the words that Katsuo said after returning her hug. Ceilidh wanted to shout something along the lines of 'God, you should be!' but she knew that would do more bad then good. She just gave a small nod, before turning back to the blonde girl. She offered the girl her hands to help pull her up off of the ground. How many kids were here now, anyway, just watching the spectacle that was her office being burnt to a bloody crisp? It must be the highlight of their time here, a counselor getting what was coming at her. Most of these kids were probably glad to see her office engulfed in the orange flames, most of them probably thought she deserved it. Why? That was what she didn't understand. She wasn't the one who had said 'okay, your child has to go to Michigan State' and she wasn't the one saying that they were crazy. She was the one trying to help them, the one that hated the fact that they were here. As much as she adored her job, she had a love-hate relationship with it. These kids and some adults were being deprived of the lives that they should be having because they were here. And even though Ceilidh was helping them leave, she knew that there would only be more people coming in to replace them. So as she helped the girl up off of the ground, she was questioning Michigan State and the good it did for the patients.
Ceilidh knew that it was probably just the fact that her office was burning down, along with quite a few of her belongings that were making her think like this, she knew that if she was still in the session with Chris, that she wouldn't be worrying like this. But it was, and she wasn't in the session anymore. Once the blonde was on her feet again, Ceilidh made sure to keep an arm around her, she didn't know how long the girl would be able to stand for, because she seemed quite weak from all the smoke. Come to think of it, Ceilidh was started to feel the urge to cough as the black smoke billowed out of the door and around them. The guards were still shouting for everyone to leave and Ceilidh was about to comply, until she heard it. A loud crash as her ceiling came down. She whipped her head around just in time to see not only the fire spread even more, but she saw Chris collapse on the floor a few feet behind her. The fire had spread up beside where he was and she could tell that it was about to take one final leap and spread between him and the group. Ceilidh's eyes widened and she gasped as she watched. Indeed, the fire did just that before she could even take a step. Ceilidh was now separated from her patient by a wall of fire. She turned to the three inmates by her.
"Katsuo, take her and get out of here." The counselor said, moving so that Katsuo could help support her. The kids had to get out of the building, and they had to do so quickly. Ceilidh couldn't imagine how bad it would be if they were all to be injured due to this fire. They had to get out, and they had to get out now. "Go quickly! Straight outside and don't you dare waste another moment in this building!" She said sternly, before turning to the guards. She asked when the fire department was going to be here and was relieved to hear that it would be any minute now. They would get Chris out of here alive. They just had to.
Words? Hehehe. Not enough. Muse? Craaappy.

shush girl, shut your lips , ( DO THE HELLEN KELLER & TALK WITH YO HIPS )
K
irsten felt herself getting groggy and couldn’t focus on what was happening around her much anymore. She could barely see the guy in front of her move and fall by the stairs helplessly. She wanted to help him but she really couldn’t. "I dare you never to do that again." Kirsten smiled and coughed before answering Katsuo. “Done.” She couldn’t see him though. It had become dark and all she saw was blackness. Had she become blind? Then she realized she had just closed her eyes. She opened them and there was Katsuo and the girl and the counselor, right above her. She saw she was still on the floor, propping herself up with one hand. She took the hands the counselor offered to her gratefully and stepped up. She staggered there for a moment with her wobbly legs and weak knees. It was all she could do to stand. The problem was that she had let way too much smoke in when she had dived into the office earlier. The thin fabric from her shirt had been too small and thing to really help much and she had been breathing deeply since she had run out of air when she had been running around in the room. So much smoke entering her lungs was doing some damage to her heart. She still needed more air but every time she took a breath, more smoke entered her lungs then oxygen. It was one sticky situation she had gotten herself into. She was launched into another coughing fit and was relying heavily on Ceilidh for support standing. She was about ready to fall. Then, part of the wall and ceiling collapsed in front of her. Oh, God. The boy she had tried to help earlier was stuck on the other side. She felt the urge to help him, but what could she do? She herself was about to faint from oxygen deprivation and exhaustion alone. She felt so useless. The feeling inside her that was boiling up felt a lot like adrenaline. She was tired and she didn’t think she could do much, but she needed to help the boy. She couldn’t hear what the counselor said next but she felt herself being switched off to Katsuo. For a moment, she just swayed there waiting for her doom because she could feel it coming. Then, she felt a burst of adrenaline and she ducked out from Katuo’s support and ran over to the wall of fire and brick that now surrounded Chris and started looking for a way through. She placed a hand to one of the bricks and withdrew it quickly along with a sharp intake of breath. The thing was flaming hot. The whole place was hot! There was one place that wasn’t on fire and only a few bricks were around it. She jumped over it and entered the ring of fire. She saw Chris, lying on the floor with a brick that looked suspiciously like it had landed on his head. She scurried over there hoping that he was still alive at least. She turned him over quickly and put a hand to his heart and leaned down to listen to his breathing. His heart was beating although slowly and he was still breathing but it was shallow. She bit her lip, wondering how the hell she was going to get him out of there. He was twice her size at least and probably weighed a ton. At this rate, she would have to drag him. She blinked. That actually wasn’t a bad idea. She would have to hurry though. More and more brick was falling and the fire was spreading and becoming bigger as she lingered there. She hesitated before grabbing his wrists and pulling him. He moved a little bit but that wasn’t enough. She started coughing again, knowing that she would fall very soon. Her strength was depleting quickly and the space that was clear enough to get through probably wouldn’t stay like that for long. She couldn’t hear much and her eyesight was blurry even now. All of her senses weren’t working like usual. All she could do was smell the smoke and feel the heat on her skin. She tugged at Chris some more, glad that she was stronger than most other girls. She had gone to the gym a lot and a lot of the dares and stunts from her childhood required strength. Finally, she was at the clear area where Chris could be pushed through and saved. With one final shove, Chris was through – maybe in pain and a little banged up but still – he was alive. Kirsten may have saved Chris, but she still had to save herself. She had been just about to step through and help Katsuo and Jodie and hopefully get out of the whole crashing building but the ceiling and fire suddenly crashed down on the clear area and Kirsten was trapped. She gasped and jumped back as it all came crashing down. The wall of fire and rubble had been hard enough to get into. Now, how was she going to get out? She didn’t trust the fire department to come in time and she wouldn’t allow some innocent inmate, counselor or even guard to try and help her. She was doomed here! Her harsh breathing wasn’t helping either as more and more smoke entered her lungs. She launched into another coughing fit, this one so terrible that it made her fall to the floor on her knees. She looked around desperately for anything that might help but all she could really see was a blur of red and yellow and orange. Some black entered her vision here and there and she realized that she would be stuck here and might even die here. If that was how it had to be then so be it. She wasn’t frightened of death. With one last cough, she fainted, landing on her back, her hand still covering her mouth in an attempt to stop any more smoke from entering her body. black dress , with tights underneath, ( SHE'S GOT A TRUST FUND, FROM HER PARENTS BACK EAST ) word count , bby -- * one thousand and seventeen! damn, im so good! lyrics , darling -- * don't trust me , by 3OH!3 comments , doll -- * i love this post. so much drama people. i hope you dont mind that i saved chris. i wanted kirsten to be an endangered princes/ cool hero. wake up , the credits are rolling -- * abbie.doll of caution 2.0 made this!
